The Holistic Hypnotherapist's most commonly asked questions
Most clients have this exact worry. Let me put your mind at rest. Anyone who is open to hypnosis can be hypnotised. If someone doesn't want to be they won't go into hypnosis

Also, I use lots of different techniques that are specifically created to help those who struggle with feeling relaxed. The good news too is that you will find it gets easier to let got the more sessions you attend.
It feels like you're daydreaming. You know, that feeling when you stare into space and can hear everything around you but you're not fully engaged? It's that natural state you experience just before you fall asleep at night. You might hear it called REM sleep but its more formally understood as the Theta brain wave - not asleep and not fully awake. You are highly receptive to positive suggestion during this hypnotic trance state too which is excellent for creating the changes you desire.
Hypnosis is a state of alertness not sleep. You will drift in and out at times where you move between different brain wave states but sleep is not the goal. If you do fall asleep I will use specific methods to bring you back round or use specific language to allow you to drift off and wake naturally. We will agree your preferred back up plan in advance.
This isn't like other therapies. Yes, I use elements of the common modalities (CBT, regression, parts therapy, solution focused, NLP + more) but it's always combined with hypnosis to connect with you at the deepest level. It's key to quieten your conscious mind - your monkey mind - long enough to let the true transformation and positive narrative reach your subconscious.

95% of your mind is made up of your subconscious so it's running the show. Your subconscious is where your patterns, habits, beliefs and stories are stored, many being stored there as far back as childhood. Hypnotherapy gets to the root of the issues and sets you free in a gentle and safe way.

Anxiety doesn't get removed from any of us. It's a natural stress response to danger and we need it to keep us safe. Hypnotherapy will rewire your brain to operate more in a non stress state, learning to respond to situations differently - consciously and unconsciously.

Each time you experience hypnosis and hear the powerful, healing words your nervous system will regulate more and more until calm becomes your new auto response.
You will be able to navigate challenges with more ease. By responding instead of reacting you will experience better outcomes, relationships and more inner peace.
